Each cooking class is targeted towards healthy eating. The link between diet and health is well published, yet in many cases it’s all theory. My cooking classes are all about converting this theory into practical knowledge and understanding.
1) Public cooking classes: Held in Cookery Schools around Cork city.
Cooking demonstrations are held in a variety of venues, and all upcoming events are detailed in the What’s Coming Up section. Each demo has a particular focus and covers a range of dishes and ingredients.
2) Home based cooking classes: Smaller cookery group sessions can be held with groups of 4-10 in people’s houses.
This cookery class has been designed to focus on the maze of healthy eating. Each dish will concentrate on a particular area of health, with a range of ingredients being discussed and presented.
See a range of dishes prepared that both taste great and will keep you healthy. Each dish has been specifically chosen to maximise the health and nutrition benefits to you. This way you learn twice as much… one the one hand about a range of ingredients that can easily be incorporated into your eating patterns and on the other, using ingredients that have been shown to benefit your health.
The cooking classes are focused on either the general principles of how to eat well and improve your health or are targeted at specific health issues, such as:
How to improve your heart health
How to manage your blood sugar levels
How to eat right to lose weight
How to eat to boost your immune system
How to increase the anti-inflammatory foods in your diet
3) One on one cooking lessons are also provided and offer you one on one support in cooking and planning/shopping skills. This is ideal for a person who:
- Lives alone and finds it difficult to cook for one
- Has recently been diagnosed with an illness and wants assistance in cooking in a new way
- An individual who is currently restricted in their cooking habits and wants to explore and open up to more ideas
